Ok guys, for the first time in 13 years I am putting a camper shell on ole red. I have never been much for campers, but must admit it looks good on there. Needed something for my upcoming beach trip and hunting season coming on fast. Found one at a really good deal, got free paint, primer, reducer, clear coat and all the fixings. Did the prep work myself and got the paint sprayed for 50 bucks. Grand total so far 125.
Now for the question. Where can I find a brake only wire for the third brake light in the shell and where can I find a 12 volt constant for the dome light? I did some looking but thought some of you may save me some search time. Thanks guys.
They are two filament bulb, one for park lights, one for brake/turn. The blue wire is for electric brakes for the trailer and not a true brake light lead. The 12 volt above is hot on mine all the time and I have it hooked up now, but for what ever reason, I can't get the fixture to work. Got 12volts to the lamp socket, but no light. Bulb good, second and third bulb good also. Just can't seem to make it work. Seperate ground wire run back to known ground.
Try checking the voltage on the fixture itself. The socket itself may not be making contact. I'm going to check some of the diagrams that I have for you.
I think you have to pull the brake wire from the upper cab brake to get the true brake wire. You could still run it to a 4 way plug as Jim suggested. You might also consider pulling the bulb out of the cab brake light so you don't have a glare reflecting off the camper back into the cab.

That's sort of what I was thinking, but where can I tap that wire? Do you know the color and location? Good thought on the cab light, just might be too late. Shell was mounted Saturday. Might have enough room to get the bulbs out though the window.
I was going to suggest you pull the light from the back of the cab and splice into the wiring there. Guess I'm a little late for that suggestion. I'll dig around in the manual and see if I can find something that makes sense. I'm not good with colors, so I may be back with whatever abbreviation the manual gives.
