Op says he is considering long tube headers. Long tubes are conducive to enhancing low end torque. Bear River's dissertations aside, and his blanket statement "you will see no gains from true duals," I would be willing to bet he will see a considerable gain over his current system.
While BR's explanations of the mechanics of fluid flow have changed considerably over time, the fact remains that the application of these systems have benefits. Header and exhaust mfgrs go to considerable expense and testing to see that this happens.
No two applications are the same, driving styles are different, and vehicle useage is different, as are the vehicles themselves. So, to answer the OP's question, I don't think anyone can tell you what will happen in the application you seek, and you will just have to try them and see.jd
I have a 72 f250 LB with a stock 360. The exhaust is the stock 2 in to 1. I'm soon to replace the system. Should I go with the stock setup again, or is there a better system? I'm more interested in fuel economy than performance. But it would be nice if I could have both. One more thing - would stainless steel be a better choice? Is it more economical in the long run?
