I didn't get a turbo with my new motor...and i did covered that my my white smoke was actually the turbo seeping oil...I have a van turbo but i need a list of the part that i will need i can't put the new motor in with this crappy turbo thx in adv.
Oh man... Early bird will need new spider, exhaust input flange (possibly up-pipes, I don't remember), intake manifolds, and I/C piping. Might be better off getting the Beans D66. Wanna part with the Van turbo??
I called Ryan Bean about the D66 a while back. The D66 is basically a journal bearing GTP38R.
He aslo sells a conversion kit that adapts the GTP38R compressor housing, compressor wheel and compressor backing plate to the van turbo for around $600.
I'm just trying to find the least expensive way to get the truck on the road the tubo is seeping and i have to put my new motor in so funds are tight as you all probaly know too well just one more expence
I found a guy at cherry turbo's in st thomas ontario who says he can build me a hybrid turbo from the van turbo and my truck turbo for less than 500 bucks so my turbo's on its wasy to him tommorow
hmm this will be differnt...hope you report back...i called beans a while back about the D66..they said with a set of splits and little tuning id be around 412 HP..i ended with a stock 99.5 set up for really good deal so i went that rout instead,, im chatting with a guy now about his SS injectors he has for sale he's running them in a 97 with D66 and dynoed 433...
My neighbor has an early '99 E350. I wonder if that turbo would bolt up to ours, or is it a carry over from the 95-97 trucks. I've done a search on powerstrokeshop.com for van turbos and they list one for E350's before 12/98.
