No it should be pretty straight foward but if its stock it should be a 351W they quit making M's in 1982. The 351W and 302 use the same bellhousing patern if it is an M it'll have the big block bellhousing patern like a 400 or 460. If its has the big fuel injection plenum intake and flat top valve covers its probaly a Windsor. I don't know much about small blocks hopefully others can give you more info.
