Where can I find the speedo calibration wire on my 94 e150 no glove box to look behind ?. i am faimiler with the cal process but cant find the wire anywhere thanks..Ajax
they didnt intend for it to be found easly it was allmost taped over. I had to get a smsll razor knive up in the area to untape it to drop it down. thanks again.
hey michael my van was reading about 5 mph fast and i followed the procedure listed over in the truck section just search under spedometer recalibration. finding the wire is the hard part it was actually just kind of stuck or tucked int the base of the wire harness where it passes threw the firewall. it is labeled with a tag psom. I swaped rear gears in my van from 3.42 to 3.73 but didnt efect my spedometer as it reads axle speed nnot drive shaft speed. my correction was need fo tires size change. One the to remeber if your speedo is fast you will need a higher number cal code. the select button only went from higher to lower number so i had to go all the way down to 0 and then it go back to the high end of the code scale . about 8 mins of pushing buttons
Ajax,
if you don't mind telling me more about that procedure.
My truck has been swapped from 3.55 to 3.73 by the previous owner, and now reads 5% higher.
Do you think that I could recalibrate my speedo with the same procedure?
Please let me know the procedure if it can work for me.
Thanks,
Michel.
I see you have listed as having a 1993 E-series, if this is an RV the 1993 is for the home and not the Ford part. If this is the case you more than likely will have a 1992 Ford part.
If this is all so you need to find out what type speedometer you have.
Some motor homes had a gear cable driven speedometer. If this is what you have you will have to change the little gear at the end of the cable that goes into the E-Break area.
On the other hand if you do have a PSOM driven speedometer then it would need to be reprogrammed, you can only do this 6 times then you have to buy a new speedometer PSOM.
If you then need reprogramming instructions post back and start a new Thread and we can go through it with you.

Thanks for the reply (I know I'm late, but my settings say that I should receive an email if there is an answer to a subscribed thread, but I didn't, I'll have to double check that)
Umm strange, if it reads the axle and not the driveshaft it should be ok, well, I will do the calibration and refer to my GPS for a reference.
Thanks.

OK, good to know that it has a limit of 6 times, I won't play with it too many times. My truck is not a RV, so it should be a PSOM. I'll dig into that as soon as I have some free time.
Thanks.
