Looking for a 460
Hey guys,
Seems as though Mieka(RangerChick306) is trying to out build me on the engine for the 65 stang.
So the 89 needs a new motor, I have plans for a nicely stroked 460.
Anyone have a block they want to sell? or know where to get 460 parts?

It will not be hard at all to find a 460 man. I found a complete 77 ford with a good running 460, and a c6 and i paid 40 bucks for it (paid 40 bucks for a set of stang seats and traded the guy)
As for performance stuff, if your gonna go for a stroker kit, there are actually a few DECENT ones on ebay, not sure how high of quality ya wanna go either.
And let me say wow, that stang is gonna haul even more @ss!

If your looking on eBay at stroker kit's, watch out for the hawks stuff. There's a few bad stories about there kit's, i think one guy had posted that the crankshaft was delivered to his door in two pieces.

I think I still have one, I will have to check, I sold it once but I don't think the guy ever showed up to get it. It is in a 76 F150 that have been sitting for a long time.

460's will be found in: 1968/78 Lincoln Town Car & Mark III & IV (exclusively) / 1972/76 T-Bird (exclusively).
Some 1973/78 LTD/Mercury Marquis (some '73/74's also used 429's) / 1974/76 Torino/Montego (exclusively) / 1973/97 F Series trucks (exclusively) / 1975/97 Econolines (exclusively).
Exclusively refers to the fact that none of these vehicles used 429's.

Found 2 on Kijiji, but one is on Rosetown and the other is in Melfort so that kinda sucks for a Regina guy...
All I need is a block, as basically everything else is getting replaced.
-intake
-heads
-rotating assebly
-distributor
-oil pan
So even a rough shape motor that's been sitting around would work too.
How much is a safe limit for boring these blocks out, is .060 ok, I know windsors .040 is about as much as you would want to, but I have heard there is alot more meat in the big blocks?

Check out 460ford.com .Lots of good info and the classifieds are a good source for things like swap parts and stroker kits.Also some fairly well known engine builders like Jon Kasse post on there occasionally.

If all you need is basically a 460 block I have two or thee freebies you can have if they`re not too far gone from sitting outside all these years. I`m afraid they might be seized solid.
