Fix that once beautiful truck back up

Here is a shot of my 86 as she sits now,but it is going to get the whole make over starting with the interior then the rear end is getting new gears and LS and then a rebuilt motor with a little more power and then some body work and a mako paint job.I have owned this truck for 10yrs and its the best ford truck I have owned to date so now I am going to show it some love.

Old pics but nothing has really changed.

Pleased to see this as I have been trying to find a shortbed with a 3/5 kit fitted. Thought it would be lower though. What wheel/tyre combo are you using? Also do you have enough clearance that (should you want to) you could use hangars/shackles to bring the rear down some more? Presumably you have flipped the rear, how much clearance is there between the top of the diff and the bed?

Thanks and apologies for the incessant questions. In keeping with the topic (I'm pleased to see this thread) here is my rarely spotted (in the UK) '83...been successfully selling off old parts and other cars so soon I can get on with buying bits for it.

Hehehe you're not wrong, it IS a bit "distinctive". It's a fiat colour although some have likened it to the signal green found on old British Escorts. I don't mind it, but paint is on the cards after everything else.

It is VERY straight, through and through - that was what sold for me.

I have 255/60/15s on the back and 235/60/15s on front. If you lowered the back even more you would need to C notch the frame. Mine bottoms out on the frame when I have 3 people sitting in the bed.

The radius arm hangers are 5" from the ground.
The rear diff is 5" from the bed floor
The axle tube is 2.5" from the frame.

Later on if I will probably C notch my frame for more suspension travel, Or ill just bag the truck and put huge notches in it.
