I was wondering if any yall fellas ever had a problem running 38x15.50's on your TTB. Reason I'm asking is found out after trying a set on I can clear and succesfully raise he!! with them. Kinda wondering how long that TTB will last till i can put in my solid axle?

I had an 87' F-250 with 4" suspension & ran 16x38.5x16.5 Swampers & the front end lasted for about 5 years. I sold the truck then & I see it on the road all the time but they dropped to a 35" tire with the lift still on it. As far as I know they have had no troubles with it. Oh yeah I forgot to mention this truck was raced in Tuff Trucks af Hoosier dome twice & in the mud every weekend.
I've always heard that you shouldn't go bigger than a 35in. tire on a dana 44 TTB because of the weak 297 type U-joints. They break easy. F-250s had dana 50 frontends, so they hold up better because of their bigger U-joints. If you take it easy I think you will be fine with 38s. I've seen Broncos with 42 inch tires and the stock setup although I don't know how well the axle held up to it.

buddy of mine runs 38x15s on a 88' with a 6" 3" combo. they hit alittle on big bumps. he also had stripped out 2 axles on the long side. due to too much travel, wheels being turned, 4.56's and a locker.
