just got underneath to tighten up the drain plug and check tranny fluid, i noticed there seem to be more oil leaking than before, my buddy is a ford tech and mentioned something about some o rings, i believe on the hpop, but that does not seem to be the cause the valley doesnt seem to be to awful wet, valve covers look dry... most of the oil i can see on the side of the block towards the rear right above the starter and it comes down and loooks like a rear main leak, i'll get some pictures up tonight. are there any specific things i should be looking at .
the weap hole for the valley is on that side..give your turbo and pedistal a good looksy..if it was high psi oil you would have a big mess at the front of the valley....at the turbo it would go right out the weap hole..
My copper drain plug washer leaked every time for a year. Then I went to plastic and it's been dry as a bone for almost a year. Oil can blow around from the plug to other parts of the drive train. Wipe the plug dry and see what happens.
the plug was leaking but thats really not the issue.
so should i expect a problem with the turbo or just lines
pedistal???
4 little orings..2 block to pedistal at the very back of the block 2 pedistal to turbo about center...need to shine a light deep under the pedistal and see if there is wet oil down there... be right back for a part ## for ya..
keep in mind..any performance wheel you see on any other site is a wicked wheel..in all fairness..its the early 99 stock wheel..they all just give it a differnt name
and yes..the turbo will need to come off to do orings...but give it a good look..and look at the EBPV arm on the pedistal to..see if oil drips from it..them leak some times too...
