this guy dint know what he was selling clasic ford f100 6cyl FOR SALE ,picked it up friday morning for the $400. the pics in the ad are before they guy started to strip it down. the only thing that ive found wrong with it is that the front wall on the bed and center bed floor by the front wall are rusted through. ive got a 65 bed that all beat up on the sides, but has a perfect floor so ill just swap the front wall and center bed floor.
his loss my gain. trying to find out original color and other info if someone has it. (color)=h (body)=481 (trans)=c (axle)=09 and (dso)=72. numberdummy should have the info, he is a great asset to this site.
i think he was hurting for money, because he he didint have long distance service on his phone. young married couple.
Maybe his wife didn't like it. Mine wouldn't ride in my pickup because it was too loud. That's why my restoration is a little more plush. Also, it wasn't "shiny." If it wasn't my grandpa's truck, I probably would have caved to the pressure and sold it. In a young married couple, the wife holds all the cards =).
bigblock i think im going to keep it, its in alot better shape than my 65. as for the engine swap am just chuging along slowly gathering parts. i found a 4R70w out of a 95 F150 that had a 5.0l. i pulled the pan and rear housing on the tranny and all the bushing and hard parts appear to be ok. ill probally bolt it up to the 5.8l this week and fit the engine and tranny in the 66 F150. ill have to move the tranny mount but not much, the 4R70W is the exact same length as the NP i took out of the 65. i got my mass air computer and a few odds and ends for the engine as well as a rebuild manual for tranny. know that ive got a tranny that will fit under there things should start to move along.
as for the hub cabs they all match far as i can tell, it dont look bad with the white and the hub cabs. ill try and get some pics today and stick them in my gallery.

What year did your 4R70W come from? I have the wiring schematics for both models. I even have an extra transmission wire harness if you need one. I have mine apart again as my forward clutch went out and I need to figure out why.
