7.3 Idi Vin?

Anybody know where I can find the VIN ON THE ENGINE on a 1994 7.3 IDI-Turbo?

Tyring to match engine with truck...

The engine serial number is on the drivers side of the upper block just behind the oil filler cover.. Unless you have some special info/build sheet mine did not record the engine serial number.

I should have deleted that before I embarrassed myself. I have always been under the impression the VIN was on the engine somewhere. Was talking to my neighbor today and he said the same thing you did: there's a serial number on there, not a VIN.

Wonder if there's any way to correlate the two?
