I had to replace my alternator the other day because it just froze. Would not even let the engine start. I was looking at it and found a date stamp on it. It was dated 1985. I was like WOW amazing. I cant believe it lasted that long.

It may have been rebuilt, or it could be original.

 

The olde stuff was built to last ... Mine has a tag on it that says "THIS ALTERNATOR DOES NOT HAVE AN INTERNAL REGULATOR" ... And it is in red print ... lol ...
