LAST EDITED ON 09-Aug-01 AT 09:38 PM (EST)[p]Hey guys, I have a Dana 60 front with thirty spline inners, and nineteen spline stubb shafts. I broke my passenger side stubb shaft and am having one hell of a time trying to find a replacement. My local gear shop "Austin Drive Train" tells me all the parts in my 60 are obsolete. I got the same story from Reider Racing. So my question to you guys is this. One, where can I find this stub shaft if anyone knows. Two, Has anyone else run into this problem and up graded. If so will you sell the old ones? My bill of Materials # is 603799-2. There is also another number on the long tube next to the BOM, it is 8 25 6A9. My shafts are right at 11 1/2 long from the center of the u joint cap to the tip of the splines. 1 1/8 wide at the shaft, and 1 3/16 at the splines. With one snap ring grove about 1/4 inch from the end of the splines. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I believe you have the same *******ized Dana60 as I do. '76 only model with the Dana44 axles, but open knuckle housing, and it's a not a high pinion design? I do know they're extremely rare if it's what you have. One thing I was going to look into was whether a normal Dana44 shaft fit?
Chilly, don't tell me you have the same reject! Hey shoot me an email and lets see if we can come up with something together. I have a few ideas, but everyone I talk to either laughs at me or tells me I'm beating a dead horse.
