Hello, I have a steering colum out of a 79 f250 2wd. I am wanting to use it in a another project that I am working on because I already have it and it has a colum shift. Anyway, there is a plastic bushing on the bottom of the colum and it is worn out and allowing slop in the shaft. Is there a replacement bearing or another plastic bushing I can buy?
Thanks, Steven
If they are still available from Ford. I'm unsure of the part number, but Numberdummy may know it. Being that it is from a 2 wheel drive, you will have to disassemble the colum to take the shaft out to replace it tho.

Thanks for the replys, it is a non tilt and yes it did have power steering. I am wanting to put it in my 62 unibody that I installed a fatman mustang/pinto crossmember in. I think I can get the shaft components to bolt up. It is a nice clean colum that does not have the key with a colum shifter.

1978/79 2WD steering columns are not the same as 1973/77, 1968/72, or 1965/67.
I suggest you get a hold of Garbz2, who posts in the 1961/66 forum. He may be able to help you, because...
From what I've read here, these late 1970's columns have to be cut down in order to fit in 1961/64's.
