What engine do I have?
. Ha just kidding, but seriously I have been reading on here alot. Some very good advice, helpful hints and nice trucks. I currently own a '51 f1 sitting on '72 lincoln running gear with a 460 bored .030 over. P/S P/B nice running truck. I recently purchased a '52 f3 and am going to look at a '52 f1 tomorrow but my question is the f3 has a straight 6. The guy I got it from didn't know what the displacement is. He also said this was the first year ford put the 6 in the trucks. Is this true and does anybody know what size the engine is. It has two hold down bolts in the valve cover and a decal on it that reads "cost cutter 6". And where would the casting #s be so I can get those. Any help is very apprecialed. Thank you.
The Cost Clipper 215 OHV Straight 6 Cylinder Engine was introduced on the 1952 F1 Series as a replacement for the 226 Flathead used through 1951. If it has a valve cover it's not a 226. I'll do a search and try to find the thread that was posted tha has the 215 picutre on it.
J!
