Exclamation Big Trouble Need Help Quick

Well i threw my first connecting rod in the number 4 cylinder, knocked like hell. I need this truck everyday of the week, not happenin now, I found a 1993 7.3 non turbo with 160,000 miles on it, im gonna buy it and swap it out, i have a 6.9 with a c-6 auto 2wd, this 7.3 has a serpentine belt, and no fan clutch, but the alternator, and the ps and vacuum pump are there as well. is this going to be a clean swap or will it turn into a nightmare, will everything plug in and what will have to be modified if anything. i need this truck very badly, please help, what should i do before i install tis too???

Everything should swap out with no problems. All the bolt on accessories are pretty much the same. The wiring may be tricky, you can either stay with the early GP controller and swap everything onto the 7.3 or keep the newer style and have to rewire some. Should be the better part of a weekend and you'll be going again!

Is the wiring harness on the engine?

If it is, the 93 will not plug into the 85 chassis harness, but it is easy to wire around the plugs.

As for the belts, I prefer the V belt system, I would swap yours onto the 7.3 engine.

With a good helper or two, an engine swap should take about 14 hours.
