Ford Rebates/MSRP

I'm looking to purchase a new 08 Ford PSD but I've been looking to get for a killer deal as diesel trucks sales are lagging big time due to gas/economy and 09s will be here soon. I noticed on the Ford site that they are now offering $6500 off MSRP with rebates. Last month they offered $7500. What gives? I went into my dealer and tried to play hard ball but they would only accept $500 over invoice.
Chevy is offering 0% financing and employee pricing. Any thoughts or suggestions on making a deal? Does Ford want to move these trucks or not?

The Super Duty diesel is 7500 in Rebates and the Gas is 6500 til 11/3/09. There are hundreds sitting on the lots here in TX. They are willing to move them now to make room for the 09's that will soon be rolling off the line.

My mistake...$7500 off on the PSD...so it didn't change from last month. My dealer here in so california didn't seem interested in making a deal...like I said...he wouldn't go any lower than $500 over invoice. Maybe I should go to Texas and pick one up!

Make sure your savings is more than the cost of the airline ticket. Some dealers will even pick you up at the airport.

You should get 7500 + 500 for AQHA or college grad or commercial. * grand isn't too bad. Be sure to get invoice minus.

Invoice minus what $? What is reasonable to ask for? If the MSRP with rebates is $43k + tax/lic = $46K. What should I be pushing for the out the door price?

What is the actual MSRP? Here in New Mexico I offered the dealer invoice plus my rebates which brought the truck down to 42500 roughly. I know I could have gotten a better deal in Texas but they had exactly truck I wanted on the lot and did not want want to pick and choose what options I could and could not live without and I have a hunt coming up where I needed a tow vehicle for our trailer and didnt want to kill my wifes SUV that had been our tow vehicle for a couple of years.. The dealer took my offer no questions asked. In the end it ended up being about 10500 off MSRP.

The actual MSRP is $50K...on the Ford site with current rebates the vehicle is listed at $43,500K. I went to the dealer and they said that $43,500 was the best they would do (actually $46K out the door). The $46K price tag would be fine in a normal economy but I just can't bring myself to pay $46k with all that's going on sales/economy/09's soon to be in. I was hoping this dealer would deal...they have something like 17 08 PSD on the lot and the guy told me that they haven't moved one since Labor Day. What do they do with all the left over inventory. Should I just keep waiting to see if they deals keep getting better?

They may bend some more if you go back the last week of the month prior to the monthly sales tally.

As of Monday, my XLT 6.4 (MSRP $45,945) discount was $11,900; this included all rebates to dealer.
There was a trade in there; a cash deal might have been a bit better. I did not finance with Ford Motor Credit, so did not get the $500 FMC rebate, which only bumps up the interest rate.
Keep in mind that your deal is dependent on the region you are in.
Hope this helps; no way should you be paying at or over the invoice (which is a bogus #, as I am sure you know).
Watch out for dealer fees that get added on to the agreed price.
So far, I love the truck (much more solid than my 2000 F-350 dually, perhaps because its new). Looking forward to its first tow in a couple of weeks (I haul a 6k lb. race car trailer).

I've bought 7 new Fords in the past two years and have a good working relationship with the local dealer. In regard to PSD pricing, the OTD prices seem to be 22-25% off sticker which can be anywhere from $10-14,000 off depending upon sticker price. Another way to look at it is invoice less rebates but don't get caught up the the invoice price... They will sell the PSD's under invoice. Also, watch the dealer add-ons as Rick mentioned. The best advice I can offer is: Always be willing to walk away if the deal isn't right

You should be about 12k-13k off sticker plus tax. Utah tom where are you at. What dealer do you go to. I'm in Logan. I shop at Wilson and Mcfarland Ford.

You may want to try here for a X-plan PIN; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...st-thread.html
Or you can call Ford directly at customer service 800-392-3673. Ask them if they can get you a X-plan PIN. Tell them that you want to buy a truck soon. At worst they could say no. But you may get it. X-plan is under invoice and all rebates also apply. So you get a less than invoice price plus the $7500 off. We got approved in less than 24 hrs.

I just picked up a Job #1 08 F350 SC PSD Lariat on Monday in NH. Sticker was $49,770, there was a $7,000 rebate to dealer, and they gave me $7,133 trade in for my 1997 GMC Sierra with 232K (totally rusted out doors). My trade had an KBB average trade in of ~$2300, so I am pretty happy with the additional money for that. I had to finance about $29k, but they also got me 4.99% on a 60 month loan.

So, based on what my trade was really worth, I would say I got around $12K off the sticker.

Couldn't have bought one of these if it wasn't for the discount. My wife bought a BMW X3 in January.....and $600 off sticker was it...period. In contrast, she was arguing with the BMW sales guy over $50....she was arguing with the Ford dealer over $2-3K.....I sent her to take care of that job.
