Cool blue sporty seats at SGI auction site. I think they look sharp in preppro 46 project.
Also 98 and 2000 ford f150 Any info pro and cons on those years looking at buying one at a sale tommorrow
watch for the plugs. short threads made for spitting plugs if they weren't changed and torqued properly. other than that, buyer beware. i hate auctions.
baby's being a nasty critter past couple of nights... might be teething??
Im on the other end of the auction spectrum, I love them. If you just use your head, check every little detail, you will manage fine.
The 98 and 00, with all three engines are pretty good vehicles. Check the oil to see how black it is, and check under both doors for rust. The rust you can see isnt the bad stuff, so crawl on the ground and look around. You can check the u joints if ya want but they are cheap to replace.
If you can listen to it run, listen for a ticking sound. (most ford modulars do that under high rpm under a load though) Put it in gear and listen for clunks, and see if it hesitates while going into gear.
haha now that is funny! speaking of toilets, i got laid off friday from another body shop, and im really frustrated with this whole trade... every shop is the same, they all suck! haha
but by the sounds of it i should be starting my new career on monday! in the plumbing bizz
ya, "lack of work" "i cant afford you" "im going broke" etc etc etc it seems to me the only places that can pay well enough and actually keep you around are the dealerships.... but then you get bent over all the time and pushed around and the list goes on... the small shops are nice but ya, cant keep anyone around cause the can't afford it...
but ya, plumbers seem busy and seem to make lots of dough so why not eh? :P
i looked into becoming a heavy equipment operator but by the looks of it there arent any jobs available for them? except up at the rigs.... no thanks!
Had one of the trucks i was asking about . he even had my number then some SOB cried they missed his bid but some one said he was snoozing when he should have been watching the auction. Then the auctioner started the bid at were I basicly got it at then the other fellow run me up another 1000 and I let it go because it needed a little workand I wasn't gonin to play what it ended up selling for. I went and give the head supervsor of the auction a little piece of my mind about the auctner way's!!! Any ways thanks to the guys for some info on what to look for.P.s I hope that truck blows up on him on the way Home...
Too bad Roy, that sucks and probably a good auction to avoid.
I`d like to see what would happen if YOU decided to with draw your bid.........I`ll bet the auction house would have lots to say about that!
How`s Taylor doing?
I wonder what the highest paid trade is now. When I checked into it before, it was electrician thats why i chose that. I heard lately that plumbing is right up there now and might be the top dog.
plumbing is way up there, but framers are now getting 10-12 dollars/sqft + extras. do the math, thats about 15-20g. say it takes most crews 2 weeks to frame a house, pay 3 helpers 15.00/hr for 40 hours, 1800/week in wages, 3600 for the 2 week period, bossman walks away with 12-16g profit.
