Been a while since I have posted but here goes... A while back (probably a few years now) there was a article written on lubing of the drive line slip yoke to eliminate the "thunk" when accelerating froma a stop... The "thunking" is getting worse on my truck (2000 F-250SD), AAMOF, it's a "double thunk" now...
I had the article printed, but my puppy kind of ate a large part of it as it was sitting in the magazine rack on the floor ... Well, I need to lube that part of the drive train now... As I remember one was supposed to use some type of moly paste lubricant on the slip yoke assembly...
Can anyone point me to the article so I can print it again (puppy is big now and doesn't eat magazines anymore)
While the drive shaft is apart, drill and tap the female end of the yoke and install a zerk fitting. Next time it starts to clunk, all you need is a grease gun.

Would that actually work? I don't think the grease would work its way around to all the splines.
What do you think?

After lubing the drive shaft slip yoke I still had the clunk.
I've noticed small leak from rear dif's seal. While changing it there was some loose on the rear dif's shaft going in and out about 1/8 inch.
Check that while working on your yoke and having drive shaft down.
Good luck
