Haha all you haters. I just traded my truck for his, he wanted the gas mileage.
I beat him in the Dakota, and the Ranger. Just goes to show its teh driver if it's going to be a close race. The Dakota did seem to grip better, i spun second in my ranger.
i agree the 4.7 is a awesome motor. too bad its in a dodge chassis. i'll take reliabilty anyday over something i cant depend on. dodge has too much history of tranmission troubles for me (overdrive automatics) and my freind's former truck with the dead spot in the power rack at 60,000 miles. that was fun to drive, steer right and no power steering. steer left and power sterring returns.
Once again, all you haters lol.
It has a HD tranny cooler to keep tranny temp downs. Plus I can't drop in a big v8 in the tiny ranger. keke
Ford and Dodge have their strong points. Yes you will "dog" dodge chevy toyota on this forum, while they dog you on their forum.
Just how big of a V-8 do you want to put in a "little Ranger"?....460 big enough?
My "little 84" has a 347 Stroker,C-4/with shiftkit,9" with locker from a Lincoln Versailles. It's nothing spectator but I sure surprise alot of the so called "Hot cars and trucks" on the roads here. These trucks are very build able and fun.

I would say all transmissions are about the same reliablitiy wise. My brother had one put in his Ram at 135,000 and my other brother had one put in his 94 Ranger at about 130,000.
I've also put just as many transmissions in toyota's/honda's as I have in dodges/chevys/fords. I still enjoy bashing dodges though...
