Umm whats this?

I stripped my donor cab out today and found this mounted up behind the guage cluster on the firewall. Anybody know what it is/for?

it looks like a heater strip or a large power resistor... I used one forever heating a dog house for my cocker spanial. I just put a plug on the end of it and plugged it in the receptacle... it heated up nicely and kept my puppy warm

in the process of resisting the voltage flow... resistors give off heat..

Could be a large power resistor, At least thats what i thought. The donor was crudely updated to 12 volt and this was disconnected under the dash. Come to think of it the heater is missing.

but then again ??? that sucker would draw some amps ???

It was mounted over the pedals, Maybe it was a little foot warmer.
