Well I just got back from Lloydminster. Left on Monday morning and got back at about 7pm. That terrible early model 03 6.0 ran like a champ. Hit some snow, rain and sun. Pretty pooped out right now.
Took my oldest daughter and her kids back there. It was the cheapest way for her to get back there. Traveled just under 2500 kms. Oh ya I almost wacked a deer the first night.
I was amazed how much that truck has in it. Driving at highway speeds pulling out to pass then giving some fuel that thing will set you back in your seat. I pulled a uhaul trailer up to Calgary and across to Lloydminister. Some pretty big hills going through the mountains. On the way back I don't think it dropped a gear climbing any hills. My 5.4 saw a hill and it was kicking out of OD.
As for fuel the full trip my average was 16.5 mpg, pulling a uhaul trailer one way. I do like the cheaper fuel prices in Alberta
Filled the truck up on Friday for $1.12 /liter. Couldn't believe I was actually going to get change back on a hundred. I was so happy, I almost kissed that pump jockey...Of course, I didn't kiss him... Not that there's anything wrong with that...
