Don't know about him, but I'm interested in lifting mine up a couple inches to level it. Tired of the door-stop look. I understand there are some heavier ones (for the ambulance package maybe??) that lift it a little. The other option as I understand it are spacers.
Sorry for the hijack, but I'm curious if one way is better than the other. And will I need new shocks for just a 2" lift in the front?? Any advice??
Joe you wont need new shocks for a 2" lift. I went the cheap route and used the 2" spacers and then found out that I could have just replaced the springs for a little more. You will have to get a front end alignment once you level it out, and 2" is the max you can do and still get your caster and camber within spec without adding more hard parts. I like the look of the truck allot better now that it sits level.

RedBoat,
Can you post a pic of your truck. I'm looking to raise mine as well.
I do know that there are 5200lb, 6000lb, 6500lb and 7000lb springs for the front of these. It was posted in another thread a week or so ago. Someone had swapped the 5200s for some 6500s (I think) and gained about 3/4" of height.
I plan to do new springs in the front of mine. Mine has over 300K miles on it and the front is low. If that is still not high enough I'll do the spacers. The local 4x4 place told me not to go 2". He said that the 2" will be hit or miss in regards to being able to correct the camber. he said he does not lift 2wd F250s that much because of this.
And the leafs in the front are shot at about 125K.
I have 213,000 on my truck and am starting to feel that statement is true. Not to but what would be a good lift kit for a dually? I was thinking about adding maybe 4" to the rear with a level front so I can run maybe 265's with a 1" spacer between the rears. I want to put some money into the old girl when I get back from Iraq
John, The local 4X shop near me told me that as long as I did not go over 2" there would be no problem with the alignment. Every shop has their preferences and experiences. I do know that there was still quite a bit of camber adjustment when I had mine aligned. I'll try to post some pics tonight.

Where do you get custom coils?

Stewart I used stock springs with the 2" spacers. I think The Parts guy can get the larger ambulance package springs or you can go to a local spring shop and they can make you some. I tried taking some pictures of the whole truck but it was too dark out. Maybe thes pics will give you an idea of what to expect?
