okay, ive got a 73 and im sure like all of yours the headliner is gone just a cardboard or w/e you call that piece in the roof is left. i was wondering about having a piece of leather made up with a cool design on it to stick to the cardboard. i was just wondering what you guys have done about the headliners in your trucks.
If it looks kinda like a peg board , in my 73 Nova when I was a kid I scrubbed all the foam off of it and just painted it black. It looked really good!
I bought a new one from one of the part catalogs (LMC maybe?) Its black plastic with "leather grain" I didnt like the way it looked because my interior is blue so I ordered some cloth that my seats were covered in and covered the head liner. It looks really good. I took the old one and played with some designs also. I cut some flames out of medium density foam and glued it to the liner. Then I glued the seat cloth over that. It actually looked really cool but it didnt go with the theme of the truck. You can get the 1/2" foam from any craft store and play around with any design you like. It holds the shape of whatever you cut out of it and its lite weight so you dont have to worry about it sagging
The cardboard in my crew was going so I made an aluminum copy of it. I haven't done much with it yet, but I plan on bead rolling it and then covering it in vinyl or tweed or something - depending on what I do with the interior.
I'd thought of putting either the England 'St. Goerge's red Cross' flag on mine or the Union Jack flag ........... or maybe just black vinyl....... mine's dirty white, I mean 'unscrubbed dirty'
If you like the leather look, take a peek at my 74 in my gallery. Home made leather headliner that was simple to make. I added a lighted overhead console that I picked up on ebay for $12, and I think it turned out pretty good!

That is one fine looking 74! What year truck is the seat from?
Interior?!? That ENTIRE truck is unbelievebly clean - NICE job!
Oh - and based on looking at the seat that is going in my truck and the one in his I'd say it's from a '00 to '04
Got any more pics of how you did the brackets on that seat?
You could try a thin piece of smoked Lexan and paint the backside if you want a shiny surface, or if you want to be creative, put some LED's behind it and give the interior a cool glow. lol
The route I'm going to be attempting for Buford is to use 1/8" ABS plastic sheeting, and making a piece big enough to be the headliner. I'll then cover it in the same black vinyl that is on the backs of the front seats, and the back seats. The front seats are black leather on top, but black vinyl on the back.
It's the best method I can come up with to make a decent headliner for a supercab. Should look pretty good if I'm not a klutz about it. Once I do it, I'll post pictures.
