If you can, log on to the web account for your phone and monitor its use.

That would give you a good idea who has it.

A printed copy placed in his hands might go a long way towards persuading him: cough up the phone and money or you go see lawyer and/or press charges.

call your cell phone compny and have them ping the phone, get its location, and call your buddy and see where hes at. if he offered to give you his phone and 40 bucks, theres a good chance he took it. if he really didnt,im sure he would have let you known in a way, that you too would end up never talking again.

I don't want to be harsh, but I agree with a lot of what has been said.

Call the phone company and see if they can help you...otherwise, just deal with the loss, and NEVER associate with the thief again. YOU are responsible for YOU.

I agree in that you forget this friend and get another phone.

Count your blessings also. I have a "stepson", age 33, who uses drugs and has stolen over 400 bucks from me while I was giving him a place to stay.
He has also stolen from his mother, sister and grandmother. He has also stolen tools from me and hocked them but I managed to get them back with his money.
He knows, as well as his mom, that he is NOT welcome here in my home.

Live, learn, move on.

If this guy is a thief and not someone with a compulsion problem, expect anything worth of value to disappear from the house and garage that he has seen, when no one is home.

Sorry it took me so long to get back on. But you guys are gonna love this!

On tuesday night I went over to his house and got his 350 dollar black berry. We got a call from arlington police at 3 am saying they have him in custody for breaking into cars, They found my phone on him. So now I have his phone and will get mine back. I will keep his till he pays me the 40 bux and the money it cost me to get a new sim card.

Good ending to this story.

The cops called you @ 3 in the morning? They could have waited until a more decent hour.

Just curious - how did you "get" his Blackberry?

Yeah it was kinda an odd hour. It was a detective.

I called him and told him I wanted my phone or his and I would be at his house in 15 mins. I got there and he said he didnt have my phone and gave me his.
