my dog locked me out twice in one day..after prying the the top of the door out and hitting the lock button with a coat hanger..i went and got a spare key and keep it hidden on the truck in a magnetic box...
I stopped at gas station for a coffee.
Ran in and left truck running. Took remote with me for the locks so i could leave it running, locked. I grabbed the car remote, on accident, off my key ring not the trucks. Dang truck ran for 1 1/2 hours while i waited for my wife and a key. Three mugs of coffee waiting that morning.. Three other ford PDS's showed up, I tried there keys. But no luck. Thought i might get lucky.
I always keep a spare key in my wallet. That's also the only key I ever give up when taking her in for an oil change. No sense giving someone keys to the castle too!!
The Auto Club has a program where they'll cut your truck key into a credit-card-sized piece of plastic that will open the door cylinder. If necessary, it will also fit the ignition, but they recommend against it. It, too, goes into your wallet.
If you're an Auto Club member, check into having this done for you. It's a "free" service to members, as it saves them "lockout" expenses.
I laugh at my self alot... My entire life i have lived in the same apartment we have never changed where we keep stuff in the kitchen. AT LEAST once a day i will open the wrong cabinet to get a cup out!!! I Very well know that the cups are in the cabinet on the right and the bowls/plates are in the one on the left. but for some reason i can not open the right one!!!

I have used the dog to "unlock" vehicles too Ron. If they can lock it, they can unlock it. Just get em all excited and dancing around the window and they're bound to hit the button sooner or later. Helped a few ladies in distress with this one.

One night a buddy of mine and I were trailering an antique car to a car tour and stopped for gas. When we tried to start the engine, the starter croaked. Fortunately, I had a spare in the back so we disconnected the battery and installed the new starter.
Then we reconnected the battery and about 10 seconds later the security system locked the doors.
And the key were hanging . . . . .
Fortunately there was a utility truck parked nearby and we were able to "borrow" a piece of wire to slip the door lock.
Ya' still feel kinda like an idiot, though . . . .
And then there was the time we got a new vehicle and I looked at the driver's side sun visor and it said "Air Bag, See Other Side". I looked at my wife in the passenger seat and asked "How in the heck did they know?" OOOOOOOOOh, not good ! ! ! ! !
A few years ago I was drilling into a wall to fish an outlet in the wall. I mismeasured and instead of ending up in the wall I had a nice 7/8" hole in the middle of the hallway hard wood floor. It cost me close to $500 to have that 1 board replaced.
So, gotta let you all laugh about this one! When I was driving back from Tennessee last weekend, I noticed the driver's front speaker blew. Making funky noises, etc. So, today, I went and bought a new set of speakers. After I got the driver's side installed I turned on the radio to hear the difference. It sounded great. I closed the door and walked over to do the passenger side. The door was locked....then I found that ALL the doors were locked! So I got the "bright" idea to climb into the bed and see if I could CAREFULLY pry open the sliding window. It started well........ended in it shattering in my face. A glass company will be coming by on thursday to replace it, and it's not cheap. Just thought I might be able to lighten everyone's day by you all knowing there are a few of us "dummies" out there, lol.

I am a "bonehead" then, too
I was delivering pizzas one day and I closed door and the truck was running and all doors locked UGH!!!
I tried to pry rear sliding wirndow and broke the lock and it shattered all over the place, not on pizzas, though
I was lucky enough to find a FTE member with a spare one for sale, cost me $200 with install
