planning a trans swap
hi, I've got a 79 F-100 super cab with a 300 I-6 and a C-4 automatic and I'd like to throw the auto in a dumpster and stick a manual in there. I've been looking through salvage yards and i've found a 4-speed in a 69 F-100 with what I think is a 302 (maybe something bigger) but i'd like to know how to tell just what kind of tranny it is and if it would bolt up to the 300 thats in my truck now? Furthermore, could I use the flywheel from the v8 in the junkyard truck or will i need to find one from another 300?
