I was doing some regular maintaince on my 06 psd superduty and found that the seals that are on the front driveshafts are just hanging on the axle. has anyone seen this before?
Yes, this is a very common problem with these Super Duty trucks. It isn't the biggest deal in the world. You could have it fixed, but it's quite a bit of work, and still won't garrentee that it will stay in place more than a couple weeks after you've fixed it. If it were me, I'd wait until you had to do work that required pulling the steering knuckle/axle and just do it then. Like the next time you replace your ball joints for example.
Here's a pretty good/exhaustive thread on this topic. (Notice, I'm the one that started it....like you I just recently uncovered this neuance of owning a Super Duty.)
