I believe talking about the seal pictured below, if so its no big deal. That's just a dust seal to keep crap out of the axle tubes.
If you're talking about the inner seal that keeps the gear oil in, you should work on replacing that.

there are two seals in front axel F81Z-1S175-HCA and knuckle seal F81Z-3254-CB, the knuckle seal has to be pressed on
I'm wondering why people on this site are telling us to use tthis part # for the knuckle seal, when this # F81Z-3254-CB, is really the rear axel seal and not the front, as per ford dealer and this is on my 03 excursion, after checking other site they say to use the same seal, didnt mean to hijack thread, I just want to confirm what is the correct seal before tearing it down
