I'll try to keep it short. For the first time in years the engine is running great. So good I started worring about the power train. No stalling and sitting on the road now. No codes 211, 212, nor 172. The last piece of the sensor puzzle was the oxygen sensor.
Gas mileage is 12.6 mpg pulling stuff to the deer lease which is great considering also unsticking a tractor then a tandem disc this trip. If I ever stick my Bronco it may take a D8 Cat to get it out. It beats all the others. Anyone else pulled a disc 1/4 mile with their Bronco?
Anyway, after replacing all the sensors except MAP, continuous memory was showing 172 which happened at light throttle above 40 mph. I replaced the 460 air inlet tube with the stock over the radiator one and no more lean code. Still have the K & N drop in filter. I deleted the 460 air inlet tube from my signature below.
Thanks. The gremlins were hiding from me. If I had to make a living as a mechanic my diet would be old bread and water. Nice that the Bronco is a weekend driver. I learned that sensors may not be bad enough to throw codes but, bad enough to give the computer false information. That said, I'll still haul diagnostic stuff for about a year or so in case it stalls again.
Congradulations! there is nothing like the feeling you get from repairing your own truck. most of the general public cant even change thier own oil, poor saps!
now go out and drive it like you stole it!
