1996 f250 with 460 o2 sensor location

Alright i have a question that i have not had any luck if finding so far. i have a 1996 f250 with a 460 and i have a dtc 172 code coming up for motor running lean on bank one. So the question i have is the o2 sensor on the truck is located on the drivers side exhuast pipe only. There is no crossover pipe upstream of the 02 sensor connecting both pipes. My 1993 bronco has a crossover tube with the o2 sensor coming right out of the tube so the sensor can read both exhuast pipes. Im thinking the 460 should be the same but im not sure. So what is ur guys opinion.

On my 97 it was towards the middle of the transmission, it was facing up. It was a pain to get out.

No there wont be a crossover tube, and if there is an O2 in the drivers side head pipe(Bank 2) then there will be another in the passenger side(bank 1) head pipe as well and that means your truck is mass air.

There is 1 O2 sensor on the OBD1 trucks, and IIRC, it's right before the cat.

I agree. It's on top of a small crossover tube. Tough to find without a light and map.

Be aware a lean code is typically a symptom of the problem, not a root cause. Any exhaust leak up strem of the O2 sensor will trigger a lean code.

No, not really. Sampling just one side is acceptable.
