I like the look of those blue LEDS. Did you get the single LED bulbs or something different? I know there are bulbs with two LEDs and more -- there are also the inverted cone LEDs that are supposed to spread more light. Your lights look pretty good, so I figure that's the way to go. Please let me know what you used -- I'm planning to do the same swap here pretty soon.
That is way cool, you've motivated me to finally replace my burned out bulbs. I have been turning on the cab light to see where my fuel gauge is at at night. haha.
I did the led bulb swap thing but was dissapointed that the light produced was still too dim. Regardless, my main purpose was to cleanup the connectors so the gauges would quit randomly pegging. Make sure and check to see your replacement bulbs light up before reassembling. Mine did not on the first pass.
Thanks to all here, my dash lights make me feel like a old man trying to see how fast I'm going (ya know, squint, squint).......lol, now I' m gonna replace them following these easy steps.
These are the type of LEDs I used. They're real nice however I wouldn't mind gettin some brighter ones with a few more diodes to put out more light. Another slight drawback to LEDs is that you will lose the dimming feature of your dash. They have two brightness setting: on or off.
