Tighter Steering?

How can I make my truck have tighter steering? I don't like it that I have to turn my steering wheel 360+ deg. to do a turn. Also how can I have faster bottom speed, I.E. Take off speed, but going 150+ mph doesn't really interest me just take off speed. Oh one more thing, my first gear really sucks, and DUH it's first gear and it always sucks, so how do you unsuck it? I want my first gear to be like 2nd gear, so I can at least get across the street without shifting in the middle of the road. If this makes any since, and if anyone can help please do so!!

Not much you can do about that unless you want to swap out the power steering system.

Change the gear ratio in the axle.

If you do that, you'll loose bottom end ummph.

Tighter Steering?

I guess we have played to many video games?!

Perhaps you could chop off the front and install the front of a 5.0 Mustang. Of course if you did that you should also chop off the rear and install a posi track Mustang rear end. She'll turn on dime, plus give you the bottom end speed you want. Oh, but what?? It would've be easier to just get a 'stang?

LOL. it's a Truck, they usually turn slower than cars, they are heavier there fore they tend to be more sluggish, and first gear was a joke in the 97 that I had. I use to start out on the flats in second gear with no problems. I had a 3.55 limited slip in that one. Whoever speced it new was not thinking. XL trim (I like that) 3.55 limited slip(again, I liked that) 5 speed (ditto) White with biege interior(still liked that) Towing package(kinda handy i guess) but wait theres more! 4.2 liter V6! that right there made the towing package a touch redundant if you ask me. Good engine to tool around town and did fine on the highway but when I hooked a 16 foot bass boat to the back of it I about had to get out and push it along. lol
