Ya, i really hope they can find the problem and fix it right, real quick. I love the truck, but not the problems, i really didnt want to go into debt anymore than needed to so i really hope the problem will be resolved quickly. I have to wait and hear from him later this afternoon.

Yea $50 a month less for 36 months longer. They need to get you an equivalent truck now. FOR THE SAME OR LOWER PRICE. You have been the most patient person I have heard of. The warranty on new trucks is 3/36k bumper to bumper. 5/60k on power train. As for Carfax it is not always right. We bought a car after running a Carfax report which came back clean, and soon found out that it had been repaired after an accident. The repair was pretty darn good but there were signs deep down. Now the dealer we bought it from stepped up and paid for the Ford dealer to replace the AC compressor that failed (a month after we bought it) because the shaft seal was damaged from the accident.

I have spoken to multiple people at different levels thoughout the day and past weeks and no one has really wanted to equally swap me a truck, they want to trade me into another which would put me upside down even further, so now they are going to try and track this problem down to the root. I dont really have a way to find out anymore info on the history of the truck, and the truck is immaculate. So it went in first thing this morning to their dedicated tranny guy which has been working on it and from what i understand he is one of the best in the area, so i think its a problem that is even baffeling him, and seriouly i would like to keep this truck if they can fix it right, i love it, so i will see what transpires tommorow.

If they won't swap then they need to get you another transmission. I think that after all of the problems that have been present there has been additional damage done to it.

They are still working on it, they have been researching it and have been on the phone with fords hotline with them to get to the root of the problem. i got a full oasis report and the only thing that came up was the butyl pads and the rear diff was rebuilt three years ago. If they can fix this truck it would be fine, i love the truck. But right now the dealership doesnt want to help me out with putting me in something else. and i dont want to put up too big of a stink cause they are paying for the repairs right now, and technically the way the paperwork reads they dont have to be doing any of this. So im going to wait it out a bit longer and see what happens.

at the end of it all, if they cant fix it they will probably offer you a free 3yr extended warranty, so do some thinking beforehand if you want to live with the defects for three years with no repair bills and still have a lemon at the end or not...I took the warranty on an 03 they couldnt fix/ Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your truck. That's why I won't buy a used auto/truck. When they're traded in, the dealer only drives them to the other side of the lot, and the "certification specialists" only drive them around the block. I unloaded a 2002 with a bent driveshaft a few years ago, and saw it vibrating down the road 2 weeks later. The bent shaft had caused some rear end damage, and the brakes were at the minimum acceptable levels also. A new driveshaft was like $800.00, and I was looking at another $2500 for the rear end/brakes. They couldn't retube it because of some weird harmonic balancer on it, and where it was bent, so I traded it in.

P.S. The damn thing only vibrated where you'd feel it in the steering wheel at 55mph and up.

Well a free warranty doesnt help me, and if the dealership cant fix it then they are going to have to do something else besides giving me a warranty cause the truck is pretty much undriveable most of the time with the problem. So if they cant fix it then its not going to have to be something that i would just live with. I think they should give me a good extended warranty on top of what i already have even if they do get it fixed.

Another thing, if they are in contact with ford over this problem, if they still cant get it fixed properly with ford involved in it, could ford just instruct them to get me into something different? I would think that they would just put a new tranny in it and be done after all the work they have put into it for the last three weeks and who knows how much longer. I would think it would be quicker and cheaper.

Ok, here is an update. Still have not got my truck back, they havent touched it since i took it in last week. So i called an attorney (lemon law attorney) and he is calling me back today. I have emailed him a couple times and he beleives i have a case. It wouldnt fall under the lemon law because for one, it isnt new, and second its four years old. But it would fall into some sort of Warranty Act (cant remember the name of it) which gives the same provisions of the lemon law as long as the vehicle is under some sort of warranty provided by the dealer, ie. the third party warranty that i bought. So i will talk with him today and see what my options are. Im thinking that once the attorney contacts the dealership that they might be more willing to help me, but ultimately if i would win my case i would be rewarded a full refund and keep the truck. And since on the paperwork, the salesman inflated the sales price of the truck to cover what was left over on my trade, i would get back a whole lot more than the actual price I paid for the truck. So wish me luck.

I've been following this thread since the beginning and I honestly wish you the best. There's nothing worse then being at the mercy of an auto mechanic. I know its frustrating to have that cool truck sitting there and it not running right. Keep us posted.

Picking my truck up today, they replaced the connector for the Speed Sensor. The speed sensor is what threw the code three weeks ago and they put a new one in and i got the same code. The service guy said the connector was smashed or broke or something, so we will see how it goes. If this doesnt fix it i will be calling the atorney back that called me the other day cause he said i have a very good case that he will be more than willing to take on and go after the dealership. So if this isnt better, i think ill have one more talk with the dealership to give them one more chance to get me out of this truck or im going with the attorney. Ill let you know how the truck goes!

Alright, got the truck back last night, drove it around and put about 50 miles on it and not a problem, it has actually felt the best that is ever has since i bought it. What the dealership found was the connectors for the speed sensor and another sensor on the tranny were bad (broke or coroded or loose) something to that affect. So they put new sensors in and a new wiring harness. And so far so good. Im glad it was something simple (to fix, not to find) instead of a tranny problem. So i hope this is the last time i will have to deal with a problem like this in a very long time. I also just got done redoing the parking brakes because i was getting a slight squeel while moving so i pulled the rear rotors off to check them and everything was rusted up and crappy. Actually the rotors were a real B**ch to get off they were all hung up on the parking brake shoes and the rotor was all rusted on the inside and i really had to work the rotor to get it off. So i put new rotors on the rear and new parking brake shoes and springs and clips and everything and cleaned everything up and lubed it all up good, took me about an hour and a half so it wasnt too bad so now that is done. Hopefully i can just drive my truck now and not have to worry about anything for a long time. Thanks for hangin in there with me through all of this and now i can focus on other stuff like making my truck look sweet and run better, thanks guys!

Make sure you drive it under different conditions and speeds as much as you can, as soon as you can. It'd just be good to find out if all is really fixed with the truck before you get too far away from the purchase date.

Good to hear though.
