wierd truck
while looking for used trucks on a site called govdeals auction site for goverment surplus, I saw a 94 f350 it gives the vin as a f engine code this tells me it has a idi with factory turbo it has all the correct badging on the tailgate TURBO and under the F 350
DIESEL TURBO DIESEL
BUT the under hood pic clearly shows a early PSD but it has a brass radiator
with the cap on the top and top hose inlet on the pass. side like a idi rad. in fact it is a idi rad.
my 95 psd has a plastic top rad. with top hose on the driver side.
for sure the goverment didn't pay to swap to a psd, this takes time and EFFORT do you think some gov. mechanic would do this.
some body please explain was the 94 set up like this never had one

1994 was an oddball year for all of the diesels, that brass tanked rad is stock for the PSD in 94, I know I've worked on 95's with the same one. A quick e-bay search turns up 95's with both rad configurations. That's how that truck was built. I'm pretty sure VIN F means PSD, not IDI turbo, I know on the later trucks it does.
As for the Turbo Diesel badge, every IDI Turbo and PSD 94 I've seen has had the same one.
