An update for you crazy fat fendered lovers
whats up guys....
Y-block coming out of the 55 tomorrow afternoon. I know i posted a thread about this before but thought i would touch on it again. First off if anyone local too me. (new hampshire) want to take it off of my hands just let me know.
Second question. As far as my manual says and from what ive read there is a special for tool ( not around anymore id assume) to adapt the engine hoist to the motor for a safe pull. This will not be available to me. Just curious what you guys hooked the chains up to. any input will be great. its probably a no-brainer but im sitting in a apartment 40 miles away from the truck right now...cant really go look at it.....
Thanks guys will post pics of the truck with no heart next week

I used grade-8 bolts and washers thru intake to the block, a balancer to get the pitch of the engine correct as it comes out, remove the air cleaner & carb for clearance with the chains, once clear from the engine bay with all fingers still intact, celabrate your kill with a couple of "Frosty Cold Ones"!
What engine are you putting back? It sounds like your are NOT going back with the "Y" I'm thinking a 252? right?
