brakes locking up
Has anyone ever figured out a cure for the rear brakes locking up when they sit around moisture? I've tried everything and it cures it for 6 months or so then comes back.

no, everything is new. even talked to a guy at the dealer and he said his does it, just hope you dont live on a hill, but I do. after you hit the brakes a couple of times its fine untill it sits a while or it rains. sounds like its rusting up. just had an 01 "mazda" ranger with the same problem last week. put new top of the line everything on it and its fine for now, but I think it will be back.

If your truck has rear drum brakes there is a T.S.B. for this. Ford part number F85Z-2200-AA brake shoes. What Ford did was leave a groove in the friction material running the length of the shoe, supposedly gives the brake dust a place to accumulate that won't cause the damp weather rear brake lock up.
