Axle dimension chart
I would like to assemble a swap guide for Ford axles into other Fords as well as other 4X4's. I decided to start this project after making a big mistake and purchasing a 1999 Dana 60 from a F350 only to learn that the axle is much wider than my 1979 axle and the spring pads were moved from 32.5" to 37.5". I know a number of peope on this forum have inquired about swap dimensions and I would like to assemble a chart for everyone. If you know the dimensions of your stock axles including the distance between the wheel mounting surfaces, the type of brakes, the type of suspension, spring over or spring under, and very importantly the distance between the CENTERs of the spring pads, please post the info here or send me an email. I will send a copy when completed to all that ask but definitely to those that help compile the info. Thanks.
