Well, haven't been real sick in over a year, I normally don't get anything that has be down for longer than a few hours. Anyways, that is not the case right now, seems to be either a cold or sinus infection, which in a sense I guess it is more than likely a sinus infection.
My quistion though is this. Lets just suppose that I just recently met someone, and, (no the relationship has not gotten intimate...yet), she was sick on wednesday, or just starting to get sick, same symptoms I have now. I was healthy then. played a few rounds of tonsel hockey that night over a few drinks, less than 12 hours later, I am getting sick.
Obviously, not a coincidence. Her doc said it was mold spores in her lungs, non-contageous, does non-contageous include closer than average contact? I figure that I at least have a resulting sinus infection from this, not likely dealing with the effects of actual mold spores in my lungs, not after that short of a period (if that is indeed what she has, it took it a few weeks to manifest itself from the occasion that they would more than likely have gotten there)
So, possible that I am suffering form a sinus infection brought on by swapping spit with someone who has mold spores in her lungs? Best way to treat? So fars seems unresponsive to dayquil, nyquil, loratadamine (sp?) or benedryl.
Symptoms include but are not limited to: slight headache, slight muscle soreness and exhaustion (I am still able to at least partially function for an hour or two before wanting a short break) I cannot breathe through my nose, major congestion, runny nose, cough, throat is sore (which was the first symptom, since I am a smoker, this is always the first symtom I notice, had to stop smoking at about noon yesterday cause of it....no other symptoms for about 8 hours after that) eyes are sore and puffy, place my upper and lower jaw meet is sore
Muscle soreness and exhaustion, on top of cold symptoms, can mean the flu. Do you have a fever? Why not just go to the doctor? No offense to any of the kind folk here, but I wouldn't be taking health advice over the internet. I would go to a professional that can look at you in person.
The above is sage advice. I've had more sinus infections than you can shake a stick at, and they are almost always neck-up.
Whether you go to the doc or not, I have two words for you: raw garlic. Eat a clove in the morning and one in the evening. It will probably temporarily end your tonsil-hockey sessions, but raw garlic, when chewed, produces a powerful natural anti-microbial substance. It wouldn't hurt to have a glass of water on hand, the garlic will be spicy, and may be a little hard on your stomach, but it works. I haven't been to the doc for a sinus infection in years now. It usually takes about 3-4 days of garlic to knock it down, then there is another 7-10 days of drainage/hacking up the remains.
You might be surprised. Try calling around--tell them you have no insurance that would cover the visit. You might be able to see a doc for $40-60. Another option is to talk to a pharmacist--tell them what you've tried and if they have any other suggestions.
<---college student, what makes you think I have 40-60? Not trying to make excuses, but my budget is so tight I am living within a range of 15 dollars a month during the school year.
I am feeling alot better today, just a really bad headache, some congestion, and a rough cough
upper respiratory infections are in season here in the southwest right now, I have had it for over a week, am currently on penicillin and Ibuprofen and cough drops. have the same symptoms you describe. love coughing up green smurfs for the first 2 hours every morning.
Just one question. Was she worth getting sick over? If she was more power to ya. But if I was in college I probably would of taking the chance also but with a guy. HA HA!!! Hope you start feeling better.
