get a BTS or John wood tranny and you will never have to buy another one again!!!
Don't know about JW but I know that the BTS warranty is 2 yrs. Within that time, he pays for shipping. Outside 2 yrs, you pay for shipping at his reduced rate. Either case, you don't have to buy another one again. $4100, IIRC. No exclusions because of the engine you mate it to. That is the last one you pay for.
You sound pretty firm on that BTS. Hopefully work is busy over the winter and I can get one in the spring.
I am. I complained about a problem with their trans not going into OD and Brian listened to me and said it wasn't the trans. After that, he told me that the problem was a broken shifter cable. I checked it left and right but the cable was fine. I decided to get a new cable anyways. Got stuck on the R&R and Brian walked me thru it over the phone while I was taking thing apart. How's that for service? Not his issue and he still helps me. BTW, it all worked out in the end.
I bought a VB from him. A month later, the diode locked up and toasted the trans. I drove it home about 100 miles and it was in burnt fluid with crud in it. Told him I would like to salvage the VB. He told me to forget about it. He said he would give me credit towards the trans. I warned him about the trans and he said he didn't care. I got full credit SIGHT UNSEEN.
