I do alot of hunting with my truck. Would like to know how to be able to run it down the road without the running lights on.I tried applying the emergency brake just enough for the dash light to come on,but then the warning chime comes on when up to a certain speed. Can't find the chime to pull it out!!
On 2005 to 2007 F250-550 trucks, Fuse number 12 in the high-amperage fuse box under the hood on '99 and newer F-250/350 superduty. Unfortunately, this will also disable the horn and perhaps other accessories. I was told that for the 2005 models the DRLs are now run through fuse number 13.
Or you can try the following.
DRL's can be disabled by placing the common side of the switch of a 12 Volt Isolation Relay to circuit 162 (Light Green with Red stripe) at the Battery Junction Box (BJB) side of the circuit, connecting the Normally Closed Relay pin to circuit 162 away from the BJB and the Normally Open Relay pin to ground. By providing a ground signal on circuit 162, the DRL Relay #1 is opened and the DRL's will not be powered.
I just pulled the fuss under the hood. Don't remember which one it was but it was labeled everything else work fine. Alt. went out and barely got it started had about 70mi. drive so I pulled a few fusses to lessen the pull on the batteries tell I got home. After that I just left that fuss out no problems what so ever.
if the fuse method does not work for your year , another easy way.. on the drivers side beside the intake snorkel, there is a ceramic resistor, it drops the voltage for the DRL headlights.. unplug it. thats it.
