I have a 2003 F250 V10 SD crew cab 4wd, I have a slight stumble and hesitation at idle, when I get RPM between 1800 and 2000 it stumbles and hesitates worse, dont make any power, have to accelerate hard to get above 2000 to get it to run again. I am getting 10 MPG if im lucky but seem to get that or better under 1800 RPM or above 2100 RPM. Unable to find any vacuum leaks or wiring problems.
Monsta, I changed the fuel filter. it did not help. new to this gas world of trucks, not sure what to check?
V10 cougar, I will remove all the COP's check the boots

Cougar, i finally found some time after work, pulled all the COP's I found dust spider web like lines all over two of the boots. All the plugs look good. I cleaned every thing, even two of the holes in the heads. She RUNS a lot better, maybe I need new plugs now. It seems to have its UMPH back and wants to run. Stumbling is no more and hopefully will get better gas mileage now - will see!
put some miles on her today. the hesitation and stumbling are back but not as bad, need new plugs? Witch ones the best to get? then maybe new boots for the coils?
thanks for help

Hey bud,
Don't spend any money on plugs just yet (if you do, buy only motorcraft/autolite). I would consider buying and replacing those boots first. Do you see any corrosion on them? Are they turning brown?
Adding Di-Electric is crucial, please don't forget to add the Di-Electric Grease. This is why you may have a little stumble, but you might want to pull all the boots and inspect them if you haven't done so already. Glad to be a help.
Boots werent brown or corroded, just the spider looking dust on outside of boots. This may sound stuiped but where exactly do you apply the Di-Electic grease? The two boots that had the spider dust pattern those cylinders had corrosion on sides of holes from top too bottom - looks like baked on varnish. Beginning of this baked varnish look on a cpl of other holes also.
How would a spider get in their? Raises a few concerns!!
You can apply the grease in the hole of the boot which then will get contact to the spark plug. Clean those holes out thouroughly. The two boots that have the corrossion is your problem. Clean those holes out thouroughly!! I hope this helps. Good Luck!
