>1. Truck had been surging at cruise speeds. Did research here. Found it was a known issue, but obscure and required new fuel pump (TSB indicating sloshing in the tank). Before I could do that though, the truck flat out died about a block from the house (crank but no fire without starter fluid sprayed in). Pushed it home and in trying to diagnose and fix myself:<o

>a. Replaced crank position sensor, pressure switch, throttle position sensor, plugs, fuel filter<o

>b. Checked all fuses and relays, fuel pressure at rail, spark arc

> I had it towed to a buddys shop close by. It had a LOT of water in the fuel. Required dropping the tank to clean and dry it. I figured if he’s dropping the tank, I might as well do the fuel pump now too. (NOTE: WHEN IT ROLLED OFF THE FLATBED, IT FIRED UP AND RAN FOR A MINUTE)<o

>c. New fuel pump, fuel filter, o-ring regulator, main PCV vac line.<o

>drove it out it was still missing. He said I should put in $20 at a time a use a bottle of water remover and injector treatment for a few times and it should clear up. I got through 2 cycles of this and it was clearing up..then<o

>2. Truck died a couple blocks from the house (same symptom..crank no fire). Had it towed back. He said the oil pressure switch went bad and replaced it (no charge). Odd, because I just put a brand new one in.
drove it out and drove for a couple of days…

>3. Truck died a few miles from the house (family with me this time). We were driving along then two bad lurches and it shut down. Had it towed to my house. WHEN IT ROLLED OFF THE FLATBED, IT FIRED UP AND RAN FOR A MINUTE AGAIN. Checked everything, found nothing. Had it towed back. He spent three days going through it. I went to pick it up last night. He had to drop the tank again because there was more crap in it and it had blocked up the strainer. At the same time, the oil filter housing was replaced for a leak. I went out to drive it away and when I started it, it sounded like someone turned on a shop vac in the dash. He came out to check it. It was coming from the brake booster. He thinks it might have sucked some brake fluid (at least that’s what he said). I’ve got plenty of vacuum so the truck stops fine…for now.<o

>So, that’s where I’m at. Truck seems to be running a little better but still missing ( I can hear it popping in the intake). Would a vac leak in the brake booster cause this? Could I still be looking at injectors being F’d up from the water/crap in the system?
Again, thanks to everyone for the help and advice!
