Parking Brake Light On...

And wont go off...This is actually on my 02 Sable. Brake is off, car will roll in neutral, but light is always on.

Any idea how to fix it without a trip to the dealer?

disconnect/unplug the park brake switch near the e-brake pedal. or replace it for $13.00 at rockauto.com look in electrical-switches-parking brake switch..... Airtex # 1s3613. even has a nice photo to help you ID it under the dash..... TomD

Does it have a pedal or a handle? The pedal in my truck doesn't come all the way back up since my return spring fell off so my light is always on as well.

Thanks guys. Its a pedal, seems to return to the right position. I'll look for a switch.

brake fluid is low..have u checked it? maybe u need front brakes.
