Axel Codes
Just looked my axel up:
The axel I.D. tag is located on the lower part of the drivers door post on my 2003 Excursion (this also has the seriel number and other info on it, white tag)
Axel ID.
C1- 3.73 Limited Slip
C2- 4.10 Limited Slip
In most all cases if the axel code starts with a LETTER on a Ford the axel will be a LIMITED SLIP!!!!!!!!!!!

All the axle codes are listed in the Super Duty FAQ, too. 
31 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-250/Excursion
C1 — 3.73 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
32 — 4.10 non-limited slip, F-250
C2 — 4.10 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
33 — 4.30 non-limited slip, F-250
C3 — 4.30 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
31 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-250/Excursion
C1 — 3.73 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
32 — 4.10 non-limited slip, F-250
C2 — 4.10 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
33 — 4.30 non-limited slip, F-250
C3 — 4.30 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
