Well I no longer own the 2000F-150.
They told me they could not explain why I was getting such poor fuel mileage.
One of the guys there said maybe you just got a lemon, Well I got news for you guys, you have the lemon now...
So thanks for all your help, you were more help than all the dealers put together, I don't think any of them know what the heck their doing...
THANKS AGAIN>>>>
Not as bad as I do, that was my first new vehicle I ever purchased new, my others were always 2- 4 years old with low mileage.
I have always owned ford trucks or lincolns, my trucks have always been good,I can't say the same though for the Lincolns that I have owned.
We do have a lemon law in our state now, maybe this won't be the end of it,a friend of mine who does all the work on my 89 F-150 and owns the same 2000 F-150 told me they should give me a new truck, if they cannot fix mine,I should take them to court.
MAYBE I WILL ,I'M SURE FORD CREDIT WILL START CALLING SOON....
I'm not sure about the state that you're in but I believe that most states all have lemon laws that basically state that any product (primarily vehicles) that are bought and there is a problem (ie. leaking windshield) and that same problem is not fixed within 3 or more times of being taken back to the shop like that for repairs, then the item is declared a lemon and by most laws they are required to refund the money in full or give the purchaser a new item (vehicle) equal in value. If they don't have a new 2000 there that is agreeable to you then more than likely get a 2002 at the same price that you purchased the original price or at least what you still owe being what you would owe on the new vehicle. Hope this helps some.

Hi,
I live in Wisconsin, where we do have a lemmon law,I bought the truck in Minnesota, they have the same law.
Of all the dealers I took this truck to, I don't believe any of them tried to fine the problem with it.
Its to bad, they sure can sell them, but when it comes to service thats another story.
My neighbor got a fuel pump recall notice on his truck, so he took it to a local dealer, that told him it was a four hour job, he told him he would wait, he left and went to get something to eat, came back in one hour and they told him his truck was done.....
The truck is doing the same thing as it did before he took it in , WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU.....
Thanks for the infomation, I will keep in touch.
Well...I know I don't have as much experience as some with the dealers but what I do know is that when it comes to recall things and warranty work (especially by ford) it almost is never done right by a ford dealer. best advice, anywork you have done (even if its warranty work) take it to a certified mechanic who is not affiliated with ford. The best part is, Ford still has to honor it. And if the mechanic doesn't know how to do it, all they gotta do is call up Ford and in 10 minutes they'll be in the books as one of the places people can take their vehicles to for warranty work. Have a great day.
