99 Explorer Tranny Problems

99 Explorer Tranny Problems
99 Explorer w/ 135,000. At operating temp. the tranny will slip in Drive from a dead stop. Engine will rev high then grab like a tranny drop. Runs fine in 1st on the column and all other gears. Is my transmission going?

I replaced the fluid maybe 10,000 ago. It was having the same problems before and it didn't fix it. TransX tightened everything up for a while. Other than that no maintenance on the tranny from 77,000.

Have you checked the level of the fluid?

That sounds like a low fluid condition.

Levels are good, and have been good since I bought it.
