So I went out today and found a puddle of antifreeze under the truck. Looks like the rad cap is starting to pull from the fin section. Time to replace since its the original anyhow with 160k. Where is the cheapest best place to buy? So far I found a 245.90 with free shipping, so give me a link so I can get this thing ordered and get my baby on the road where she belongs!!!!!
Have you considered contacting a radiator shop, set up an appointment that you can take the radiator in and you can have it back the same day all rodded out, and soldered leak free and tested to around 20#
This will be a whole lot cheaper than a new one. JMHO
That's about what I paid for a new one this last winter. I had a radiator shop fix my old one first, but within a month or so another leak in another spot started. The old one had ~225K on it, so figured it was just getting rotten. Super nice guy at the shop applied the repair money I'd already spent toward a new radiator, so I took it.
thats what I am worried about. If it has one leak, I would think that others are not far behind seeing as how its the original rad with 166000 miles, and is over 13 years old.

$245 is a good price for a new radiator. Rock Auto is $280 + shipping.
Mine was leaking this past summer. cost $25 to repair. No problems after repairs.
I also considered a replacement but the radiator shop told me the original radiators are very good. You were worried about the miles, 160K but per the shop, they have seen several with over 500K before rotting out. He said the replacements, even from the stealership, are not near the quality and are built lighter.
Per the shop, the biggest drawback to repair is the solder is softer than the original solder which he called a hard solder.
One more note. My radiator is a 4 core. All the replacement radiators I priced were only 2 core which will not cool as well as the 4 core.
ordered my rad, it came in today, wasnt even close to what was in the truck. Looks like it came out of a sportrac or something. Took it back to our local race shop. Guess I am going to drain this one and have it fixed.
Helifixer, THANKS FOR THE OFFER!!!! THAT WAS AWESOME OF YOU.
