Phone Button

My 08 f-150 has a little button on the radio controls that has a phone symbol on it. My 05 didnt have that, it was a mute button. Can anyone tell me what this button is for and how does it work?

this is just a long shot here, but i would guess that it is to answer your cell phone, and hear it through the stereos speakers.....

hopefully someone who actually knows will chime in, but thats my guess.

Actually...the button does nothing.
And after reading the manual.... it confirms that it does nothing.
It actually says that in the manual.

Mine doesn't.
I can press it all I want, and the screen will display "No Phone".

it's supposed to be blue-tooth enabled. I guess Ford didn't want to play

I think it's for use with the Ford Mobile-Ease hands free phone system. I looked at it but decided it was too much money. Of course, I don't call in the truck much, so YMMV.
