Choke working

Choke working
properly after I changed radios in my truck. Is this a coincedence or is the power to the electric choke tied into the radio? It was cool the day I did the swap, but it has been cool before and it hadn't gone to high idle.

The electric choke is powered off the stator terminal of the alternator, which is only hot while the motor is turning. The radio is powered off the ACC circuit. If your vehicle is stock, the two are not related. The issue is most likely related to climate change. Are you pushing the gas pedal once before a cold start? This serves to snap the choke plate shut and raise the idle.

I almost always step on the gas before I hit the key, so I am not sure what has changed. I didn't think that the choke and the radio would be tied together in anyway. Thanks for answering.

every dog has his day. the universe is in balance though. you fixed one part and another started working. I just got done swapping the clutch on my truck, and right before i was ready to go for my test drive, the FR brake line started leaking!
